It is no longer sufficient to think, analyze, and discuss the philosophies of transformation. It is now the moment of change.

"All well and good," you reply, "but how is this to be done?"

The answer must come - moment by moment. Each one of you is a pure and shining conduit through which Divine power touches the planet Earth and all of its strivings and sufferings. In order to fully honor this holy mission, you must bathe your intent in the moment-by-moment awareness of your humanness. "What is holding me back?" you must ask, "what is fear telling me now? Where am I betraying my own deep knowing?" Again, these cannot be simply casual questions, but are the imperatives of these times.

So we offer you these monthly tools, not to be considered just an interesting subject of conversation, but a timely and extremely useful means by which the Light, which is your true self, can finally be transmitted to the darkness of forgetting which, indeed, is the cause of the suffering of your world. Use these assignments well, with our blessings.

Transforming FearJanuary

Fear is the abiding companion on the human plane of existence. Why? Because you move from Oneness into the illusion of separation. The moment you take a physical body, you are in the fragmented forgetting. The moment when you leave the peace and the joy and the Promise, you become frightened. The infant newborn, before that instant of imprinting takes place, has no sense of otherness. All you first perceive is Oneness and Love. Inevitably experience teaches you that you are no longer in that Perfection. You are now this tiny, helpless body in your chosen environment which seems to be turning more and more unreliable with every breath. So hand in hand, the moment of separation and fear are born together, but that does not mean that they must die together.

Homework #1
What has fear told you would happen if you stopped being afraid? Ponder that as you go off to sleep tonight and write down what comes to you. Make note during the day of fear's promptings.

Fear is a habit, an addiction, a powerful superstition. It is a useful practice to ask yourself in moments of discomfort, "And what if fear were not here? What would be my experience?" Fear will step in to remind you, "But you can't do that. You can't imagine not being afraid. It's too dangerous."

"Oh yes I can," must be your response. "Not only can I imagine it, I can remember it." Each one of you holds that holy memory of being in the freedom, the joy, and the ecstasy of Home. In your daily life, no matter how much pain and suffering you may encounter, Heaven is with you, and that is what your hearts most want to know.

Fear wears so many labels: common sense, behavior, responsibility, even "mature doubt." Jot down what fear whispers. It is simple, extremely important, and powerfully transformative. Fear believes that it is fighting for its life and, as you will discover when you do these homework assignments, it is.

Transforming Fear ContinuedFebruary

Homework #2
Take one of the most painful events, one of the most frightening adventures in your life. Consider it for a moment, then imagine it with all of its detail except without the fear. If you had not been afraid, what would the experience have become?

Even in more quiet tranquil times throughout your day, take a minute once every hour to stop and note, "In this instant, what would I experience if all fear were absent?" Then choose to live that moment without fear.

Begin to practice this exercise, perhaps when you meditate or walk, and certainly when you are in fear or find yourself in habitual responses to a frightening world. Stop. Go into your inner being. Ask yourself, "In this moment, without fear, what is really happening?" If you develop this as a practice to take with you through the rest of your life, you will find yourself moving to your own dying, not with dread, but with excitement, with a healthy curiosity, and with the magnificent presence of your Being.

Knowing that you can live a fearless life and die a fearless death, how would that change your world? What bondage would fall away? What limitation would be lifted in the sunlight of that knowing? Do you begin to see how truly imprisoned you are? How you are incarcerated in the false belief that somehow, somewhere, something can really harm you?

There is no other question to be asked now, not in your own life, your community, or in your world. There are but two choices: love or fear. Label them as you will, but you know the experience of both. Remove the lens that fear has taught you to wear and you will see yourself, and therefore everyone in your world, in your true radiance as Perfect Love. You will alleviate not only your own suffering but that of your planet. Your soul purpose here on earth is to remember who You are. As you begin to touch Love's power and open to your own self-remembering, just watch the miracles happen.

Acknowledge Your Power of Creation March

How would you design your world? For the truth of the matter is that that is exactly what you have done. Do not turn upon yourself with anger and say, "I have designed poverty, cruelty, war?" Not exactly in those terms. But what you have done is set aside the capacity to transform those things in the name of modesty, good behavior and of becoming who it is you knew you had to become in order to be embraced in the clan of your choosing. You are surrounded by the self-made ramparts of what fear has taught you is essential for your well-being. They do not permit the vastness of You to begin to create the world that you truly hold the power to create if only you knew it. To be told you are limitless is one thing. To allow it to become the mode of your human experience and commitment is quite another.

Eternity seems a sweet and agreeable idea and the mind will gratefully receive that and file it somewhere in the folder marked "Impossible." Yet how else is it to be done? The language is yours. The communication must filter through the mind as well as go directly to the heart. If you could only use that direct heart connection, you would have no questions at all. You would know exactly why you have come, what your life's task is, and you would hold no one accountable for your choices but yourself. Now you have come to a crossroads, an invitation. And so we beckon you to stretch beyond the familiar. Now is the time to create a world of your choosing.

Homework #3
Let us assume for this moment that you have fallen completely in love with yourself (which is your assignment) and you perceive your world through your own love, what would be your next step? If you were given a blank sheet of paper, and an angel said to you, "We need you to redesign your world by tomorrow morning," what sort of world would you envision? How would you create your world? Please write it down.

This is not child's play, although you may enjoy it as if it were. This is your next step back into your remembering. This is the moment when you are free to choose what you have come to offer to your planet in its time of need.

And so, my dear creator-in-the-name-love, how many of your requirements would come from practicality? How many from habit? From fear?

This is, in fact, what you are already doing with every breath you take. You are designing the next moment of your life from the belief systems that you hold as you inhale. If you want to change your life, do you see how essential it is that you alter your inner beliefs, not just the intellectual ones, but the deep imprinting that you have walked with all your years? The first belief to be addressed is that somehow you are a flawed human being, separated from the Oneness, stumbling through life as the hapless victim of outer circumstances.

Personal history is compelling. But it has little to do with who You are and the path you have chosen. If I asked you to tell me who you are, you would go back to history. If I asked you who you will be in the future you would also go back to history. I say,"No." You are not bound to your history.

You create from the moment of Now, not from history. Who you were a breath ago is not who you are now. You long for humanity to awaken, to stop poisoning your planet, to stop causing suffering to the creatures and to each other. Then let the call go out. The only way that Light can come to planet Earth is if you allow it in the moment of Now. And it must come through your heart or there is no window.

There is nothing I can tell you that You do not know. There is no outer authority that is wiser than You are. I do not refer here to the intellect but to the core of your being. If I could instill that belief in all of you, in a matter of weeks your communities would change and in a matter of months your world would change. The moment that willingness to remember takes place, the path is lighted, and you are escorted by cheering angels. The celebration is instantaneous because transformation is promised. This is not a weighty responsibility. You are invited to get to know yourself. You are very nice.

So what are you going to do about it? I urge you to to take firm hold of those of your imaginings that excited your heart. What brings you delight and exhilarates you in your life is, indeed, the path that you must walk. Begin to honor yourself.

Dealing with MoneyApril

There is a great deal of superstition surrounding money. What does money mean to you? How much money is enough? Is it a virtue to be poor? Can you be holy and wealthy?

Many wants arise from fear. Many wants arise from self love. My suggestion is to rewrite the dictionaries of history to align yourself with the requirements of love, not fear. It seems, on planet Earth, that your lives are controlled by the abundance -- or lack of -- money. The requirement to earn money is placed high on the list of personal priorities. My suggestion is to begin to sift through your own historic expressions involving money.

To begin to weed through the emotional vocabulary surrounding money, look for the root, whether it is love or fear speaking. Not a simple thing, but certainly a possible one. When you have done that, you will find a much less complex question. Then, I dare say, you will simply ask yourself, "So what do I want? Where does my heart call me? What brings me joy?"

Will your mind, with its fearful capacity to reach ahead to disaster, be satisfied with that? Of course not. Don't expect it to be. Tell yourself, "All right, this is the world I am in and I will walk it with self-love as my primary focus." Fear may intervene, "until you are able to supply this and earn that, you are not worthy of your self-love." Nonsense!

Homework #4
Write yourself an essay on money.
First write from the viewpoint of the one who does not have money. Then from the viewpoint of the one who has abundance. And third from the viewpoint of money itself. "Tell me who you are, Money? Speak to me."

What does it mean to have the abundance of the universe pour down upon you, not just in easily recognizable light, but in the coin of the realm? Listen to the greater wisdom. You are not the victims of your world. You are the creators of it -- in the name of Love only. If you lived believing in the truth of who You are, you could create the resources that fear is now devouring. Be present in the moment of Now and you are empowered beyond your wildest dreams.

What you believe holds great power is buried beneath layers of fearful misconception. I want to assure you that it is all right to be abundantly wealthy and follow your path. It's all right to have money pouring out of your pockets and still be holy. Money is just a symbol. You give it value.

The universe is waiting to shower you with all that you will ever require. Don't you know that? You would be astounded to know how you continually interfere with that bounty. You say, "I would like to have .... but no thank you I really can't have it now." Or, "That is my dream, but I am not worthy of it yet." You send out the request and forbid the delivery.

Making SpaceMay

You may ask, "Aren't we all taught to make the best of things?"

Yes. But you were never told what the "best of things" was. As long as you are living your life with a forgetting heart, how are you to fulfill the promise that you brought? How will you reach to your own fullness and power, your own true knowing, if the belief systems that surround you seem to hold you in bondage? What do you long for? There is a bridge to cross. You stand at the entrance. How will you take another step? When you understand that safety and predictability are not what your life is about, you move beyond the familiar costume and structures of your life and begin to live.

Homework #5
Practice 'creating' one circumstance in your life that fully and completely honors your heart, your loving truth, your joy. How? By making a space for it.

Rather than waiting suspiciously for something to manifest itself before you give it credence, create a welcome in your inner vision, much as you would if you were planting a seed in your garden. The place is decided upon, the soil prepared, and the seed planted. It then requires only a little time and some watering.

Allow for infinite possibility in its manifestion. And do not let fear tell you what Love has in mind.

The Unreality of OthernessJune

You have all been deluged with teachings that remind you of the Oneness. But what exactly does that come to mean in a world such as yours? Simply this: That all of the walls that seem to keep you apart from your fellow human beings are built of illusion. There is no such thing as 'otherness'. Your entire world of manifestation is predicated upon an impossible premise, that of aloneness, of the possibility that anyone or anything can possibly exist outside of "All That Is". In order to bring this awareness into practical application, I offer the following:

Homework #6
Find a place to sit in quietude. Hold discourse with one (or perhaps many) inner areas of self where there is unrest. Gently, as though you address a frightened child -- which of course, you do -- listen to the lament, the tears of false belief. Then take that disenfranchised and therefore angered and distraught portion of self and lovingly and tenderly allow it to see another way of perception -- a way that more honors the 'beingness' rather than the fear.

This is not as difficult as fear would have you believe. Then make note of your findings and keep this journal for easy reference, for the habit of forgetting is deeply ingrained, but not hopelessly so.

To address one small 'opinion' a day will work wonders in your lives and in your world.

ListenJuly

Your gift to the world - the soul's purpose for incarnation - is waiting to be unwrapped and offered. There is no room for ego or pretense here and none is necessary. It is only with the key of humility and devotion that the treasure chest of Self can be revealed.

Homework #7
During this summer month, plan - and commit to that planning - to allow for at least a one-half hour of time alone each day. And what is to be done in that time? It's to Listen! Take pad and pencil with you and write whatever it is that wants to speak. Do not judge and, please, do not edit. There are so many wisdoms and treasures waiting to be heard. There is nothing that you do not inherently know.

Do this, and set aside the written words. Do not read them again, or even consider them until the end of this assignment, the end of this month. Then, gather together all that you have written and, with deep respect, reread it all. You will be astounded.

Condemnation and JudgementAugust

Stop for a moment and conspire with the angels of mercy and creation. What, if anything, would you alter if the choice and the plan were your own to create? Would it be to stifle the voices of anger and hostility? Would it be to jail all the wrong-doers? Would it be to build a monument to the concepts of goodness and worthiness that you have been drawn to in your lives? This not a simple exercise to pass away the sweltering days of summer. It is an exploration into what creates the chaos in your world.

You see, dear Ones, whatever is being committed by who upon whom, it inevitably erupts from a deep seated sense of rightness. The world may well look on aghast, with abhorence, yet within the mind and convictions of the doer is the almost - and I repeat almost - total conviction that it is within the moral and ethical rights of such as he/she/they that this thing be done.

Homework #8
And so my suggested homework, if you will, is to perceive the conviction behind the action in all things. Why? Not to condone, no. But please, in the name of Heaven, not to condemn. All that is asked of you and all that is needed from you is your willingness to love and to hold in compassion every human being on the planet. Until the judgments can be retired there can be no peace.

Do please hear this. I am not saying that you should abet or applaud cruelty. I am suggesting that you embrace in compassion even as you stop the act. For it is alienation, it is 'otherness' that wounds the world. It is non-loving that keeps non-loving alive.

Prayers of the HeartSeptember

Dear friends, now that the summer is essentially past and the gentle days of autumn are a promise soon to be fulfilled, what will you pray for? What hopes will you welcome? What dreams will you embrace?

You have all been taught that these things I ask you are for children or the very old or the more gullible among you. But the truth is quite different.

To live without hope or dreams or prayer is not to be present at all. It is to walk in the sham of the human milieu without the heart of the angel. And that is not why you have come.

Homework #9
I offer you homework for this time.

Each day, at least once (and many more times if you are so inspired) stop your habitual activities and ask yourself these three questions:
What do I truly want to pray for?
What hopes do I cherish?
What dreams do I hold?
Write down the answers and save the writings.

Your own answers will serve as reminders in times to come when fear/forgetting takes you by the hand once again and leads you into despair.

The Voices of HistoryOctober

Homework #10
Wherever there is discord or distress in your life, take as much time as necessary to ask yourself these questions:

Where do I believe that suffering is unavoidable?
What do I imagine must be the consequences of this circumstance?
What voice or belief structure in my life has somehow convinced me that I am unworthy of my own fulfillment? (I, the Being of Light that is manifested at the call of Love.)

Write these answers down and then, throughout this month, take time each day to contemplate your desires and, quite separately, the voices that forbid you the fulfillment of those desires.

There will come a moment when you will recognize that the decision to honor your true self is not some monumental act of profound courage as much as it is a boredom with the old, nagging, voices of history that have forbade you your dreams. From that moment onward you will live your life as you have chosen to - in the name of love.

A Prayer for Each MomentNovember

Because you are noble and you seek only truth (whether you are consciously aware of this at the moment or not), I offer you the following assignment to assist in the seeking.

Follow each step of your day with a prayer. Now, what do I mean by that? Your lives are lived with such complacency, as though there will always be another opportunity, another hour or day or year or decade. You live with impatience that this moment be done so that the anticipated 'result', if you will, can be quickly reached. It is as though someone has taught you that the course to come in the feast of your lives is always the better one, to waste time in enjoyment of this particular part of the meal is foolish. So you heedlessly dash through your entire human adventure without ever being fully present. Is it any wonder, then, that you remain dissatisfied?

Homework #11
And thus the homework suggestion. For each moment - to the best of your commitment and ability - stop and touch the deeper awareness of this immediate time. It will heal much of your pain and fill you to the brim with ecstasy as you walk your way Home.

Am I here?December

Ask yourself as many times a day as you are able, "Where am I now? Am I here in this moment in this body in this breath?" And if the answer is YES, then you and love are one. Yet the habit of human experience is to scatter one's awareness, attention, presence in the past and in the future, as though there is no 'self' existent in the now. From that unfortunate stance arises all your suffering, all your fear. Look for nothing more powerful in your lives than who you truly are. Seek where you may, you will all eventually return to Self. Where else do you have to go?

Homework #12
So the homework is this: "Am I here?" This is not to be followed by, "then where am I?" for that will only take you on a long and familiar journey. Simply ask again, "Am I here?" until the answer is "Yes."
